Marketing with your Videos

Video Marketing Made Simple

One video. One journey. Many ways to reach new listeners.

Every New Reality Journey can now include its own introductory video.

This gives you a simple and highly personal way to introduce your work, welcome new listeners and explain what they can expect before they begin.

The same video can also be shared on YouTube, Substack, Substack Notes, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and your own website. When you combine it with your personal referral link and NRJ’s website embeds, each journey becomes its own miniature marketing campaign.

You don’t need to master every social platform. Choose the places where your community already gathers and use the same core assets across them.

Start by welcoming the listener

We recommend adding your video to the first track of your journey and making that track free.

This means that anyone following your referral link can meet you, discover what the journey offers and decide whether it is right for them—even if they are not yet an NRJ subscriber.

Your video might be between 90 seconds and three minutes long. There is no need for an elaborate production. A clear, warm and authentic welcome is more valuable than polished advertising.

You might cover:

  • Who the journey is for
  • The need, question or possibility it explores
  • Why you created it
  • What the listener will experience
  • How best to listen
  • What they may want to prepare beforehand
  • A gentle invitation to begin

Try opening with the listener’s need rather than the name of the journey.

Instead of:

Welcome to my new journey about relaxation.

You might say:

If you find that your body is tired but your mind refuses to switch off, I created this journey for you.

The first version describes your content. The second helps the right person recognise themselves.

Make the first track free

Your introductory video should be freely available whenever it appears on the first track. This allows visitors arriving from social media, YouTube, Substack or your website to see what you offer before being asked to subscribe.

Where appropriate, we also recommend making one complete audio track free.

The video creates connection. The free audio creates conviction.

Depending on your journey, your free experience could be:

  • The first foundational meditation
  • An introductory lesson
  • The opening chapter of a Living Audiobook
  • A complete sleep or relaxation track
  • A short story or poem
  • An ambient or soundscape experience
  • A practical exercise that produces an immediate benefit

You can also make your entire journey free if that is part of your wider marketing strategy.

The aim is to give people a meaningful experience—not simply a trailer for one.

Publish your video on YouTube

Upload the same introductory video to your YouTube channel and include your personal NRJ referral link in the description.

A good YouTube title leads with something people might be looking for.

Instead of:

Introduction to The Space Between Thoughts

consider:

How to Quiet a Busy Mind | The Space Between Thoughts

In the description, briefly explain the journey and invite the viewer to continue:

If you find it difficult to quiet a busy mind, this journey will gently guide you towards the stillness beneath your thoughts.

YOUR PERSONAL REFERRAL LINK

You can also add the referral link as a pinned comment.

YouTube gives your video a permanent, searchable home. It can continue introducing listeners to your journey long after the original social posts have disappeared from view.

Share it across your social platforms

Your full video can be shared wherever longer content is welcome. You can also select one strong moment and turn it into a shorter vertical clip for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts or Substack Notes.

A simple social post might follow this structure:

1. Name the need

Are you lying awake with a body that wants to sleep and a mind that wants to keep working?

2. Introduce the journey

I created this gentle audio journey to help you step away from the day and prepare for rest.

3. Offer the free experience

You can watch my introduction and listen to the first track free.

4. Add your referral link

Use the personal link generated by NRJ so that any resulting subscription can be attributed to you.

Remember: you do not need to be everywhere.

Choose one or two platforms where you already feel at home. Consistent, human communication in the right place is more valuable than hurriedly posting across six platforms.

Use Substack to add depth

Substack is particularly useful when your journey has a story, teaching or larger idea behind it.

You could publish:

  • An article explaining why you created the journey
  • A personal story connected to its theme
  • An extract from a Living Audiobook
  • A reflection or journalling question
  • A transcript or adapted passage from the journey
  • A short Substack Note featuring the video
  • A listener response, with permission

End the post by inviting readers to watch your video and experience the free track on NRJ.

This creates a natural progression:

Read the idea → meet the Guide → experience the journey

Add the journey to your website

NRJ provides two types of website embed.

Both include your personal referral code, so visitors who discover NRJ through your website can be connected to you.

The image embed

The image embed displays a journey image that links directly to its NRJ page.

It is suitable for:

  • Blog posts
  • Resource pages
  • Course pages
  • Recommended-listening pages
  • Website sidebars
  • Online articles

Your code will look similar to this:

<a href="https://nrjourneys.com/journeys/100-years-of-ermintude-a86f?ref=tom-evans">
  <img
    src="YOUR_UPLOADED_IMAGE_URL"
    alt="100 Years of Ermintrude on NRJ"
    style="border-radius:16px; max-width:100%;"
  />
</a>

Replace YOUR_UPLOADED_IMAGE_URL with the web address of the image you have uploaded to your own website.

When someone clicks the image, they will be taken to the journey using your referral link.

The interactive iframe embed

The iframe places an interactive NRJ panel directly on your website.

It is ideal when you want visitors to encounter the journey without first seeing a conventional advertisement or text link.

Your code will look similar to this:

<iframe
  src="https://nrjourneys.com/embed/journeys/100-years-of-ermintude-a86f?ref=tom-evans"
  width="100%"
  height="300"
  style="border:none; border-radius:16px;"
  loading="lazy">
  <p>
    Listen to
    <a href="https://nrjourneys.com/journeys/100-years-of-ermintude-a86f?ref=tom-evans">
      100 Years of Ermintrude by Tom Evans on New Reality Journeys
    </a>.
  </p>
</iframe>

Copy the code supplied for your own journey and paste it into an HTML or custom-code block on your website.

Some website platforms restrict iframe code. If the interactive embed is not accepted, use the linked image embed or a normal referral link instead.

Social networks and most email services do not accept iframe code. On those platforms, upload the image or video normally and add your referral link.

Your five-step journey marketing plan

For every journey:

1. Show it

Share the journey image with a question or statement that helps the right listener recognise their need.

2. Explain it

Share your introductory video and tell people why you created the journey.

3. Sample it

Make the video track free and, where appropriate, offer a complete free audio track as well.

4. Embed it

Add the journey to your website using the interactive iframe or linked image embed.

5. Revisit it

Bring the journey back into view whenever its subject becomes relevant.

You could return to it through:

  • A listener comment
  • A short quotation
  • A seasonal connection
  • A personal reflection
  • A related article
  • A new or updated track
  • A themed playlist
  • A question for your community

An NRJ is a living work. Its marketing does not have to end after launch.

One journey can create many social assets

From one journey image and one introductory video, you can create:

  • A full YouTube video
  • A shorter YouTube Short
  • An Instagram or Facebook Reel
  • A Substack article
  • A Substack Note
  • A LinkedIn post
  • A journey-image post
  • A quotation graphic
  • A short audio or video extract
  • A linked image on your website
  • An interactive website embed
  • An email to your community

All these assets can lead to the same free introductory experience through your personal referral link.

Keep it personal

People are more likely to begin a journey when they understand why it matters and feel a connection with the person guiding it.

You do not need to “sell” yourself or make extravagant promises.

Speak to one listener. Name the need honestly. Explain what you have created. Let them experience something freely. Then invite them to continue.

The complete pathway is beautifully simple:

Show it. Explain it. Sample it. Embed it. Revisit it.

One video can introduce the journey.

One free track can demonstrate its value.

One referral link can connect the listener to you.

And one journey can keep finding new listeners for years to come.
