Journey Description
There are things we can only notice when we slow down.
In the rush of everyday life, the mind is often busy moving ahead — planning, remembering, worrying, wanting, trying. Yet when we pause, even for a moment, something else can become visible.
These poems are reflections on those moments of stillness: the simple happiness we might otherwise overlook, the stories our minds create, the freedom that can come when we stop believing every thought, and the quiet beauty of simply being here.
Written from the perspective of a meditation teacher, these poems are not intended to offer answers so much as invitations — to pause, to notice, to breathe, and to meet each moment with a little more presence.
There are many things the mind knows when it is still.
These are a few of them.
Journey Tracks
Be Mindful Child
Be Mindful, Child is a short poem that reminds us of the fragility and impermanence of life.
When we rush through our days, treating life as a race rather than something to be experienced, we can so easily miss the small moments that make life meaningful. The laughter, the beauty, the quiet pauses, the people we love — moments that may seem ordinary, yet are often the very things we will one day wish we had noticed more fully.
This poem is an invitation to slow down, to notice, and to be present for the life that is unfolding around us.
For life is not waiting for us at some future finish line. It is happening now.
Be here. Be present. And live in such a way that there are fewer moments left to regret.
The Quiet Side Of Happiness
We often imagine happiness as something bright and unmistakable — loud with laughter, excitement and celebration. But happiness does not always announce itself so clearly.
This short meditative poem invites us to notice the quieter side of happiness: the warmth found in an ordinary moment, the comfort of stillness, the beauty of something simple, or the quiet contentment of simply being.
Happiness does not need to be grand or accompanied by a crowd. Sometimes it asks nothing of us at all, except that we slow down enough to notice it.
Perhaps happiness has been here all along, quietly waiting for us to be present.
Its Only Me!
So much of the fear and worry we carry is created within us. A thought can become a story, a story can become a fear, and before long, what we have imagined can feel more real than reality itself.
It’s Only Me explores that moment when we recognise the theatrics we have created within our own minds—and realise that we also have the power to let them go.
